I've been through it with LinkedIn recently: account randomly locked and an official ID was requested from me. No way, I managed to get my account deleted without an ID.
Oh right! It's not a spoiler, it was one one the announced features, I just misused solo vs single-player.
Didn't play the first one yet, but your insight is very interesting. Honestly, I cannot understand why any game wouldn't offer the "storytelling" mode. It's a solo game, just let people play how they want to. It's like selling a toy car and saying "You can only drive it on a carpet with four wheels touching the ground at any time". Nope, my (hypothetical) toy cars will be goddamn submarines if I want them to.
I've been offered this set last x-mas, first Lego set in like 20 years. Pure joy, one of my favourite films and beautiful beautiful set. I'll probably modify it next weekend to build the one from the third film. Enjoy it!
Oh yeah, and I'm back in Legos now, got a Botanical bonsai tree set.
Fallout games allow you to be as slow as you want with the right builds. It's never too fast tbh.
But... but... So a thoughtful (d6) character that tries something forceful (4--8) would have 1/2 chance to succeed (with 4, 5 or 6 on their die) while a strong character (d12) would have 5/12 chances to succeed (with 4-8 on their die). It means that a strong character is mathematically weaker at attempting something with their strength than a less thoughtful character.
Edit: ...all of that given the same approach die which I assume may happen in character creation.
- Wow, that's way easier than I was imagining. So, the GM uses core position and effect notions to play around player intention. Thanks!
- Hmm, even if it's not RAW, your approach still sounds very reasonable. A bad roll means something bad happens and therefore leads to stress. A good roll means everything works good and therefore no stress.
- "Fail forward" is a phrase I easily forget as a non-native English speaker but this is such a meaningful concept. It is also one ofe the core notions in Fate that I played quite a lot and I am kinda embarassed to have forgot it.
Great insights, thank you a lot!

Base game before compatible games?
I am looking to dive into the MB ecosystem after a few years of Fate, 3.5 clones, BitD and a few minor systems. I cannot wrap my head around how to approach this: should I get Mörk Borg base game before trying other material, even if it is marked as standalone but compatible MB? I am thinking about Pirate Borg and Solo Borg. Would it be better from mechanical point of view to get a good knowledge of MB first?
(There's also an obvious reason to get base MB which is art. I am obviously getting it at some point but I wonder whether I should get it first.)
I agree, feels a lot like Fate. Well, the no-stats approach using different dice is interesting and worth to be noted. I'd try it on a few random scenes just to test it and to see what question would emerge. But yeah, I already foresee quite a few.
I also like the galton-board stress approach. I used a similar thing in my latest game. It's not necessarily better than any other system but it's a bit of fresh air and a pretty little mechanic which is rarely (never?) used.
Not only higher, but also more stable since, unlike bonuses, a salary cannot be cancelled for some reason.
Didn't know that, that's cool!

Flashback scopes
Hi fellow BitD-ers! I am currently learning the system and started a solo campaign (don't judge me on that lol), two sessions in I finally have a reasonably good understanding of how different mechanics work. However, I did not manage to find some clear information about how flashbacks are supposed to work:
- How far or close in time can a player flashback to? IIUC, the whole mechanics is supposed to replace the tedious prep phase and taking some decisions before the actual mission. Can it be a flashback to a point in time before even knowing what the mission would be ("Several years ago I hid some tools in this prison, just in case")? Could it be to a moment during the mission ("In fact, I set some papers on fire before leaving the previous room so it should cause some panic and confusion among guards"). I did this last one on my first session and, given the fact that I am my own GM and my only player, I was pretty happy about that. However, I do not know how canon it is to the RAW.
Awesome build, thanks for sharing! It really changes the whole mood of the base model. How many Botanical sets are there?
Edit: I've just seen that it is a Reddit repost. AFAIU, OP has used at least 3 Botanical sets and many (many!) flower pick-a-brick elements.
Honestly, there's nothing you can really miss IMO, the game presents everyone and everything in a nice and smooth way and you won't ever be lost.
Just Cause series is great for that, JC3 being an absolute joy of free movement. I used to spend hours just gliding with grappling hook and fly suit.
Loved Steep and have tons of hours on it. However, my issue with it is that it is a purchase for a single playthrough: there's no way to start over. I didn't play in years, mostly forgot how to play and would like to have a few tutorials, rediscover the open world again, etc.
Well, I will just stick to PC and Steam Deck even if I consider price/hour money.
Wow, that seems to be a great supplement! I might look into buying a pdf only somewhere (I already have lots of maps and minis) but if I cannot find one... Well, there's never too many maps and minis, right?... Right?
Well, it wasn't all in the same session but 3-4 sessions total. Before the last combat I understood that they were never going to reach to the dragon and designed the combat differently.
There's a talking dragon waiting to share their wisdom and power with the party. He is, like, a couple hours away from the city everyone spends like a few sessions in, preparing to be sieged. NPCs are all talking about how great were the legendary times when dragons were helping dwarves with defending the city. There are dragon claw marks on the city walls. A geographer sponsored by one of my party members tells stories like:
"There was once a cavern just here, near the city, where lived an ancient dragon. And you know what? People don't talk about this place anymore, it isn't on any recent map and nobody goes here. Ever. What could be hidden there? Who knows? If only someone could, like, walk in here and take a look".
Nope, never happened. My party destroyed the whole damn dark forces army all by themselves and left the city. They are now heading to the cooking contest organised by a pixies queen.
That's hilarious! Honestly, that's probably how a real bunch of murderers adventurers would react.

Focus on the Road - solo journaling road trip game
A few weeks ago I have found a very nice jam on itch.io called Road Trip Game Jam 2025 which was really inspiring and chill. At the time there were already a lot of really good little video games. I decided to hop on and try to submit something physical instead and many coffees later my solo TTRPG Focus on the Road was born.
It's a chill game about driving across a big country, meeting interesting people and visiting some cool landmarks. You will take some pictures of your new friends and visited places using an instant camera and try to continue your trip before the gas tank is empty. As many solo RPGs it's not really a game you can win or lose, it is mostly a tool to narrate a cool story while listening to some old rock music. The main mechanic is interacting with any hitchhikers you might take with you, trying to find a good discussion topic, listening to the radio together, etc. It's absol

My submission to the Road Trip Game Jam 2025
A few weeks ago I have found a very nice jam on itch.io called Road Trip Game Jam 2025 which was really inspiring and chill. At the time there were already a lot of really good little games and, as a racing / car games enthousiast, I decided to hop on and try to submit something nice. I am a full time developer but didn't want to bother with a video game project since I am an awful artist and didn't want to work in a team on my free time. So I went a physical game path and wrote a solo TTRPG Focus on the Road.

LinkedIn ID verification
First things first, I've updated my LI account with a new e-mail and 2FA and now my account is "Temporarily restricted". LinkedIn require me to send them either my ID card (no way) or my legal information certified by a lawyer in my country (no way). The ID seems to be "verified" (they are nothing to compare against) by Persona, a third-party that is located in US.
I kindly asked by mail to delete my account (as outlined in Article 17 of the GDPR) using a webcall or a short video with me talkie-talking about how I would like to recover my account. "Kindly asked" whether they prefer me to bring the matter to the court (Article 77 of the GDPR). Gonna see what they reply.
Anybody who went through this? Any success? Any arguments that seemed to work on the support?
