I'd like to be straight, wanna trade?

It's moreso saying they'd rather suffer a disproportionate workload than deal with group work, for better or worse. It also has the subcommentary that a lot of workloads have their personnel requirements overestimated, or that sometimes interpersonal inefficiency/friction/etc. can turn a 1-person job into an artificially higher workload.

Are you using the calligraphy tool? IIRC the calligraphy tool does create filled polygons instead of stroked paths

us emachines and gateway kids grew up to be lightweight distro enthusiasts
like now my laptop has 16 gigs RAM, quad core fuck even knows GHz processor, and a GPU but if a process starts using >2% of my resources i will

me after installing Ubuntu because it was the only other OS I'd ever heard of, because I accidentally nuked my Windows Vista install by trying to overclock the CPU in a Gateway laptop:

GIMP certainly has a lot of UI problems that seem to have persisted for no other reason than "nobody got around to fixing it"
Also, it's 2025 and you STILL can't just draw a circle lmfao

Yes. As I am insane, I also treat my raw fruits and vegetables with a UV light (not that this would inactivate endotoxins though. For that you're SOL)
Always wash the ever loving FUCK out of your produce and dry legumes.

Are you referring to the ends of the lines being rounded? You can change the "cap" type of a stroke path to rounded, square, or sharply pointed using the attribute menu on the right (would provide screenshot but am on mobile, apologies)
https://inkscape-manuals.readthedocs.io/en/latest/strokes.html

It works out of box with my obscure Samsung S-pen touchscreen laptop from 2016, on Debian with no driver preconfig. I am thoroughly impressed

I'll admit Inkscape's UI and menus are a disorganized mess. I'm fortunate I learned it while still a high schooler with too much time on her hands

I worked in an industrial bakery for a while and was so mortified by the cleanliness and safety conditions that I basically only ate fresh vegetables & fruits and dry beans for several months because I was so worried about eating anything that had been under a factory roof
Was it good for my dietary health? Probably, but I spent a ridiculous amount of time on cooking and food prep and neglected other areas of my life to make up for it.
Everything sucks.

Friendly PSA to try raising the head of your bed if you have any kind of sleep issues. Literally just stick a couch cushion or some old clothes under the head of the mattress to raise it a little. It costs nothing to try
If you have mild sleep apnea or acid reflux this can work wonders for you

I certainly like GIMP and Inkscape better than Photoshop and Illustrator, though any professional photo editor or graphic artist would probably fight me on that lol
But Krita is the best drawing/painting program of all time and I stand by that.

i have been laughing about this for like 5 minutes i don't even like cats it's just peak visual comedy + relatability humor

honestly goals

it'll be out just in time for us to play it in the retirement home lol

Mother 64
Mother 3 is my favorite game, but I'm still bummed this timeline didn't get a fun quirky N64 graphics Mother game. Would have been interesting to see which style elements came through in 3D, which didn't, and what new spins on things would have added to the series

oh god oh fuck what have you done do you understand how many niche DIY toolkits I have now I'm forced to add another
edit: oh wait it's just one bottle. what's one more bottle of engineering goo? 🫠

Huh. Never occurred to me they likely come in different compositions for different uses.

Super helpful homemaking tutorials!
I know a lot of this is common knowledge but it can be so useful for those of us who:
- were ostracized by the tribe and raised by wolves
- parents' sheep flock was too large for them to have time to teach us
- hit head on a really hard rock and forgot a lot of stuff

Unexplained object movement with 2 witnesses
At work one day, my coworker, my boss, and I witnessed a cup suddenly slide off a completely flat table, as if pushed. Nobody was anywhere near the cup, and we checked the surface thoroughly for moisture or anything else that could have caused that movement. We couldn't come up with any explanation for it at all.
My older sister had a similar experience, also with coworker witnesses.
I consider myself somewhat of a skeptic, but I'm glad I got to experience something unexplainable firsthand and with other observers. Reminds me that there's still plenty of stuff we goofy hairless apes don't have all figured out.

SearXNG search string that uses random instances?
I feel like this exists but I forgot to bookmark it and I'm having a hell of a time finding it if it does exist (largely due to broken SearXNG instances argh!) In my experience each one I save into Fennec via search string only lasts a few months before it breaks intermittently or entirely. I'd rather use a link that picks one at random and is thus more likely to just return results without too much fiddling.
Yes ideally I'd host my own... it's on my miles long to-do list...

Stepping in the one wet spot on the kitchen floor while wearing socks

Right as you're about to leave work you realize you have to poop

Tips for blow drying my hair without wanting to die?
I have tried:
• air drying (takes too long, extends wet hair misery)
• having short hair (can't have short hair at one of my jobs)
• dryer bonnet (somewhat better cuz at least I can sorta multitask)
• sitting in front of box fan (takes too long)
• paying hairdresser to do it (expensive)
Figured I'd see if you guys know any tips and tricks...

What music video do you wish was a full movie?
Ones that come to mind for me are Telephone by Lady Gaga and Money by Cardi B
TIFU by trying to clean an inkjet printer with rubbing alcohol
disclaimer: was not today, was years ago when I was in high school
Did you know most consumer inkjet printers use either a piezoelectric crystal or a tiny heating element in each print head to produce small, consistent ink droplets?
I didn't!
So I tried cleaning my mom's printer heads with rubbing alcohol. Which unclogged them! And then promptly set the printer on fire after being ignited by the heat and/or sparks.
My family will never let me live this down.
