  • Scary that the device can be convinced to kill you. I don't care how bad the app is, that shouldn't be possible.

  • Each instance is available on someone's localhost.

  • Kinda wish it had DI, coming from Angular and C# it's so helpful to have stateful services, I know one answer is to just use a global static, but that causes huge issues on the server side and it's really easy to make mistakes there. It feels like contexts are the answer, but then you can't use those services in load functions.

I'm curious where do you store the current user data. In a static store? Return it from a load function and access it via the page store? Somewhere else?

  • You can run ollama on a regular laptop

  • I was like this when Stargate was in it's hay day

  • Totally agree, generated code shouldn't be checked in 99% of the time. I'd check it in if it's something like openApi spec file that's generated and then everything else can use that spec file for generating clients and those don't get checked in.

  • Wait but isn't it free?

  • Find some nerds who live near you, I guarantee they know the best place, we can't answer your question as it highly depends on which country you live. Not saying you should tell us either.

  • I didn't even see the numbers at first

  • The bitrate is the rate of the video, not the size of the file. Think of different codecs as different types of compression, like rar vs zip vs 7z

  • I mean it did change for a very good reason. Stuff gets hacked because everyone is online always. In "the good old days" it wasn't a problem because people weren't really online so there was pretty much zero risk of old software being used to exploit your machine. These days? It's a liability to have old stuff on your phone because someone could exploit it to steal stuff from a large number of users.

  • That would probably be pretty hard, considering every service is different. Google drive stores your data and so their ToS probably says you can't store pirated content, but that wouldn't make sense for most other services that you can't upload stuff to.

  • Man those were the days. I still use Voice and have years of messages in there, I dread the day they cancel it and I need to find something else.

  • Clearly the best option then is to just use some of each. Like this: "MovieTitle-2000.Your_mom h.265"

  • Draw me like one of your french wombats

  • This is one of those cases where even if he wins he loses. Who would want to sell ads anymore?

  • Please, I'm dying over here. Is there an alternative that does support it?

  • Honestly the first one is the only one that works when people define the first day of the week differently. On the other hand, it does make you wonder. If Sunday is the first day of the week (as it is in many places) then how is it also part of the weekend?

  • Nope. You can compile it to web assembly and run it in the browser.
