  • I’m not looking to make it, just surprised it was that simple. I had no idea!

  • Wait chloroform is really that simple to make?

  • Why does having a good time being social leave you feeling empty?

  • The House bill will die in the Senate, and RFK’s announcement is not final or legally binding yet. They are both very bad, and we’re moving in the wrong direction, but I don’t think there is anything that has actually changed yet, as a result of those.

Which state you’re in is going to matter a lot. If leaving the country isn’t an option (as is the case for most of us), then moving to a friendlier state might be more doable.

I would also do some research on grey market and DIY options, if a total ban does someday go into effect

  • I read it once before, and I really enjoyed it! Maybe I should read it again

  • You can stay in National Forests free of charge for dispersed camping, you just have to move your campsite at least every two weeks

  • Will I ever stop feeling like I need to “prove” my trans-ness to myself? Like, I know that I am, but it’s that obnoxious intrusive thought “but what if you’re just faking?” that keeps coming back

  • Yep. Lots of things pass the House, and very few manage to get through the Senate. And I find it unlikely that this would be the thing they kill the filibuster over

  • Oh yeah, definitely! Even in legal states, if you’re on federal property (like National Forests), possession is still a crime. Gotta be careful with stuff like that

I meant that they aren’t arguing over it as in the DOJ isn’t suing states over having legalized it. Although if I recall correctly, the Obama admin DEA did conduct raids on medicinal dispensaries in states where it was legal

It gets weird and messy fast

  • Yep. But when two laws are in conflict, the higher law wins. So state laws supersede local laws, and federal laws beat state laws. Of course, there is also weirdness where the higher body might just choose not to argue with the lower body over conflicting laws, like with cannabis legalization.

  • Yeah, my bookmark never got much more than 100 pages into Ecology of Freedom

  • Oops, it was me :3

  • I mean, if I’m going to fail, I want to at least look good while I’m doing it

  • Some More News is quite good, I highly recommend it!

  • Oh I totally agree it’s better than going willingly. I suppose the best alternative would be monitoring your threat level and getting out of dodge before there is a team of soldiers outside your door. Failing that, I’m not sure any personal-sized arsenal is going to do much good

  • I’m hardly opposed to arming up for self-defense, but let’s be real, if a squad of police/National Guard/military are outside your door ready to fuck up your day, a pistol isn’t gonna do much.

  • I get the feeling that more people are starting to come here because they got banned on Reddit, rather than fleeing enshittification. If it keeps going downhill at this rate, I won’t be around for much longer

  • Lol, the “it’s just a joke” excuse, really?

It’s a slur, whether you find it personally offensive or not, and if .world doesn’t want to be seen as a home for bigots and bullies, it shouldn’t be tolerated

  • No, I won’t. Ableism is unacceptable and should not be tolerated
