look, i do agree with a lot of the criticism, but can we please stop with these weird headlines?
being spyware is independent from being open source. the software can be totally open source and spy on you, and closed source software can be completely privacy respecting.
that's not a good tl;dr. the article goes into the history of ancient psychedelics use, which seems to be way less than what people usually think or write about. it not only goes over false claims, but also looks at where ancient psychedelic use actually was happening and where there is evidence. they provide many concrete examples. the article is less about locals trying to please tourists.
It's at least an actual fact that all of the crap that's been polluting up our bodies has messed with our hormones and such
yeah, so what? who says that this wouldn't lead to less gay people?
remember "don't ask, don't tell?" that basically meant that officially, 0% of men in the military were gay. obviously there were way more than 0% gays in the military. i don't think it is a "dumb take" to say there weren't necessarily less gays back then, because we know for a fact that there were way more gays than what was reflected in stastistics.
is the censoring of "kill" part of the meme? don't worry, lemmy isn't twitch or youtube or american tv or whatever where everything is magically made family friendly by bleeping things out.
microsoft paid thelinuxexperiment to make a video about this? don't think so
