  • It’s more about the entitlement. They feel entitled to children but can’t have them without going through another human being to make it so. As such, laws are made to give them control over said human beings.

It’s like all those proposed save all the kids on the internet laws. The kids are not what it’s really about. Sure, you can dig up a rare human or two who really does want it to be about that, even to the point of belief, but the kids are never what it’s about.

  • They feel entitled to us and are simultaneously annoyed and angry that we profess to be human beings, which are actually entitled to the same legal rights.

  • It looks like they’re hunting anyone ethnic with a following on social media per the latest batch of headlines.

  • That’s how all the thumbnails work now. Even HCR started a lighter version of it post Trump win, and she was very basic, straight up content prior.

Thumbnails/algorithm have killed hobby channels, like woodworking and sewing, all of it.

We need an “anti” algorithm slam on YT to fix it, but I doubt there are enough creators/makers/whatevers willing to engage such an operation en masse. Journalism/podcasts have always leaned on the present state of the algorithm.

The other issue is the thumbnails exist as they do due to the predominance of phone users over laptops/desktops. It’s a size thing. The thumbnail is designed for small phone screen reading.

  • Mine does the same with the left and feminism. Which is fine. The only time it’s gotten sketchy is after my deep dive into the manosphere and their birth rate decline stuff.

  • The idea that this ends with Trumps death is no different than leaning on the hope that someone else who isn’t you is going to stop any of this.

Yes, he looks terrible. Yes, it’s entirely possible we wake up tomorrow to news that he died in bed.

But consider what happens next. Peter Theil assumes the presidency through Vance. And Theil hates democracy.

  • For there to be consequences we would have to have a legislature not working for billionaires.

All of this comes down to billionaires buying their way out of having just one vote.

  • Well yes. That’s the idea. They’re special and deserve more than one vote. Democracy is foul, to them. One vote per person undermines what they believe regarding themselves.

  • The article says they’ve spent millions on tv ads.

  • That’s the line.

The reality is they’re special people who deserve way more votes person than us working class plebs. /s

  • Possibly one of the worst workplace uses for AI. Dystopian 100%.

  • TV advertising is apparently still a thing. I remember Atari and dial TV with 4, 6, 12, and PBS on Channel 10 as the options, and this TV ad news is shocking.

Who watches TV ads? Besides Super Bowl viewers once a year.

  • Poor Nimoy. He could never escape that character. Except, maybe, as William Bell.

  • The only use I see for these is protestors/watchers. And even then it only works if it’s not entangled with meta or google.

  • I hate subs, for any kind of entertainment most of all, but I think they’re necessary for VPN/private email.

I’m adding an another item to that list. Kagi. De-enshittified search results. My partner bought it, so it’s a shared sub, but I’m sold on it. It’s like it’s 2005 again, and that’s a good thing.

  • A playable PC version of RE4. It finally happened, but it took them long enough.

  • They’re likely at the point of not just wanting to own things but not being able to afford subs. .

  • Isn’t Microsoft stabbing itself in the foot? 11 is so bad it’s bogging down regular machines available before this nonsense

  • It doesn’t matter. It’s Star Trek. I’ll have to watch it eventually. Though it makes me sad to see Stewart looking so frail.
