Just a guy. A guy that thinks. Sometimes too much.

  • If society had just killed nuclear research outright, we wouldn’t have nuclear medicine today.

  • That’s fair but it’s the same problem we already live with for nuclear weapons. The codes exist, they’re secret, and we trust a handful of people with them. Why should an AI kill switch be any different?

  • You think we would notice it. Probably older people first since they’ve seen more change and can spot when things don’t add up. Younger generations might accept it as normal. It’s up to us to warn them. No?

  • Yeah I agree most risks are bias and bad decisions. But I still think we need a fire-extinguisher style backup if something spins out of control even if hitting it brings great pain.

  • Every option you listed sucks. That’s the whole point. So do we just give up on safeguards entirely?

  • Well if AI gets out of control we would want to wipe it not just shut it down.

  • So the whole thing is wiped out?

  • my bad changed to datacenter.

  • I believe they are called high-power microwave (HPM) systems. I guess not the same thing tho.

  • I'm talking smaller scale EMPs

  • I agree but we need some safeguards

  • The left and right need to move more to the center.

  • Naw I think its wetware.

  • Aw man really? If there is an incentive to read that's it.

  • Or nuclear war or the ozone layer.

  • Its a game called Crusader Kings 3. its about picking traits for offspring for your successors but so much more than that.

  • Ah once again i wish i read books.. I think if I was to pick up a book it would be the novels behind the show The Expanse. I feel like they left a lot out of the show that was in the books.

  • Not all children are equal in the US and the same holds true for China, But the difference is staggering.
