'Trains of thought' is a good metaphor, because your thoughts do run on rails, and they do track improvement and maintenance each time you use one pathway.
That's why it's not that simple, to just think positively, and maybe you need antidepressants to even do that.
But it's part of therapy to try to leave those trails more often and lay new tracks that lead to more positive places so you hopefully won't need antidepressants for the rest of your life.

Und im Ernst: ich hab mir das tatsächlich schon überlegt. Bei dem was auf dem Mietmarkt so abgeht wo Wohnungen ohne Küche vermietet werden (das crazy) wenn ich nicht weiß, ob ich in 2,6 Jahren da noch wohne.
Hab mich dann dagegenentschieden, weil ich viel zu gern koche und meine Partnerin leidenschaftlich backt und ne geschenkte^1 Küche von Kleinanzeigen eingebaut. Und die überlassenen Geräte vom Vormieter eingebaut. Das will ich aber auch nicht nochmal machen.
^1 Mietkosten fürn Transporter und ca. 800€ für ne neue Arbeitsplatte, sowie ne halbe Woche Zeitaufwand sind auch nicht ohne. Aber wenigstens das Geld für die Arbeitsplatte hab ich vom Nachmieter reinbekommen.

Und stimmt natürlich, dass das Einfluss hat. Gefühlt sogar mehr top-down. Also wenn man vor Landtagswahlen mit Leuten redet hat man oft den Eindruck, dass die gar keine Ahnung haben welche Kompetenzen überhaupt auf Länderebene liegen und da Dinge mit reinmischen die sie eher bei der Bundestagswahl anbringen müssten.
Kommt extrem darauf an, um was es geht. Bei Technik und Wohnungen(!) wäre ich vorsichtig.
Aber in der Eltern-Community, alles rund ums Kind hab ich bisher sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht und bei Musikern auch.
Ich versuch aber auch so gut wie immer Selbstabholung zu machen, außer bei wirklich kleinen Beträgen. Und wenn mir bei der Interaktion was komisch vorkommt, lass ich die Finger davon.

Da gibt's zwar nicht die Superschnäppchen aber dafür kriegst du gebrauchtes Equipment mit Rückgaberecht.
"Safe to drink" means: you can drink this and not immediately die or get sick/poisoned from it.
"Drinking water quality" means: if you drink nothing but this water for your whole life, it won't harm you. (as far as our scientific understanding goes)
Do you mind sharing which part of the world you're in?
I made my degree in Germany (and Switzerland for a small part) and there are a few assumptions that come with that. We mostly have combined sewers here (i.e. wastewater and rainwater runoff through the same pipe) and local regulations of course.
Maybe you have different circumstances where you live?
Also on a side note: I consider solar panels as a kind of a cheat as well, because they are not in any way reliant on the water treatment process and could be installed regardless and fed into the grid. Though the dual usage of the area is much appreciated and using their energy at the source is a good idea.
How do you know so much about waste water treatment and why are you so optimistic about what could be done?
I've got a relevant university degree, and I'm way less optimistic about most of these topics.
For example:
Muds can be harvested for digestion, in order to produce methane for generating electricity. Depending on the scale, it can be used to power the plant alone or to inject into the wide power grid.
This is usually not a net gain. Wastewater treatment plans consume more energy than can be harvested from the wastewater.
The only WWTP I know that claims to produce more than they require for operation can only do so, because they accept additional organic material from a nearby slaughterhouse into their sludge fermentation stage, which is a bit of a cheat.
The same plant is btw also burning their treated sludge because it contains too many pollutants to be used in agriculture.
Then why are people using this bugger everywhere: 😂
