History Major. Cripple. Vaguely Left-Wing. In pain and constantly irritable.

  • Took me a moment

  • lmao, more Soviet apologia about how it was the most progressive and democratic country in the world, while also blowing the usual Holodomor denial whistle about how it was just the ‘kulaks’ and other ‘class enemies’ who were suppressed.

The PEOPLE’S single-candidate elections picked by party apparatchiks! The PEOPLE’S gulags for gay folk! The PEOPLE'S purges of officials by a dictator! The PEOPLE’S deportation of Ukrainian peasants living at a subsistence level to Siberian GULAG!

He doesn’t actually address the comparison to Nakba apologia either, just goes off about how the Nakba is bad (it is, but that's not what's being pointed out, lmao). Guess it might have be too sensitive a point for him to attempt an actual rebuttal to, even in his fascist circlejerk.

Also, “I didn’t DEFEND ethnic cleansing, I just said it was totally understandable given the material conditions!”

    👅🥾

  • My favorite bit is "PugJesus doesn't think they had any reason for what they did, he thinks they did it just for the evulz 😭😭😭 can't they see they were just making a rational, if disagreeable, decision to perform ethnic cleansing???"

Imagine if someone made that argument about the fucking Nakba. Or said that anyone objecting to apologia for the Nakba just didn't understand Israel's motivations.

Also amusing is the accusation that I ban Marxists, when I only ban revisionist shitheads who think taking power away from the proletariat is praxis because their favorite genocidal dictators told them it was. And I'm pretty sure Deceptichum is even less ban-happy than me.

  • Party cohesion and the relative strength of the party are key factors. In a two-party system like our's, the Dems should be well-placed, nominally, to resist (if not necessarily stop) the rise of fascism, since the division of the opposition and uniting with useful idiots is often a key tactic in fascist consolidation of power. Italy and Nazi Germany alike.

... but the Democratic party has no cohesion. Neoliberal ghouls try to milk the far-right for all its worth, like Zentrum in Weimar Germany, while the socdems and demsocs in the party actually trying to resist fascism are reduced, by their extreme minority status, to nothing more than admitting that they are defenceless, but not honorless when the hour of reckoning arrives.

For example, in South Korea in the late 80s, while not strictly speaking an expression of fascism (which is generally considered to combine totalitarian revolutionary with reactionary ideas, while South Korea was just a bargain-bin authoritarian military junta), the opposition parties fought the long-lasting authoritarianism of South Korea even without holding a majority. Even in the immensely repressive environment of a police state, they managed to not simply resist the expansion of authority, but reverse it entirely. But it required the diverse opposition groups to present a united front on at least the singular issue of opposition to authoritarian abuses.

And a lot of people taking to the streets. A lot of people taking to the streets.

  • Yeah, jousting armor can reach like, triple that weight, or more. THAT sort of thing you definitely won't be going anywhere on foot with, lmao.

People who practice HEMA in armor or Bohurt can be frighteningly fast even in all that gear.

  • Moving around is fine - you can run, jump, spin, do whatever you like, in full armor like that. It's something like ~30 pounds, which is bad, but not deabilitating,

The issue that arises is fatigue - it's horrible to make a march in, and takes time to take on and off. So while there would often be a core of heavy infantry outfitted like this, most infantry would prefer lighter armor.

The only armor that would be legitimately unable to be used on foot would be jousting armor, which was immensely heavy because it was meant to protect the user entirely during sport (the, well, joust).

  • There would be specialists who did the artwork, specifically, at this point in history. I think they had a form of tracing using an original/template illustration, but I only vaguely remember my art history classes.

  • Denying that deliberately killing civilians is terrorism, and saying "All violence in a settler colony, including the violence perpetrated by and against the colonizers, is the fault of the colonizers"

  • You in big poodoo now.

  • Protestants must be doing it wrong, our's always tasted bland

  • I posted it on MoG, but I don't remember the title.

  • thats another view of history and i appreciate your input. but you rewrote what i alluded to, parts of what you said are parts i didnt mention because i was offering a general summary.

I literally only addressed issues that I directly quoted you on above.

the white army/loyalists who were formerlly part of that army were still very much active after the fall of the tsarist regime, even decades later.

No. They really weren't. The Whites were spent as a force within Russia by '23. The only Whites who remained active were emigres in other countries who spent most of their time moping and begging from their hosts.

this is part of what lead to the birth of gullags under lenin. and the slaughters under stalin,

Neither of those claims are true. The birth of the GULAG system arguably has its roots in the Tsarist regime, but its most infamous incarnation under Lenin was applied to political prisoners in general; and under Stalin simply whoever caught their neighbor's ire at a given point in time.

    , they didnt vanish overnight,

No, they vanished over the course of 5 years of civil war. And they weren't that powerful to begin with; the Bolsheviks killed as many anarchists and dissident socialists as Whites during the civil war.

and they 100% recieved support from the west after the revolution for a multitude of purposes that undermined russia.

Only until the Russian Civil War was over. Fuck, man, most of Stalin's industrial reforms were enabled by Western material and technical assistance in the 1930s.

and yes it was gross mismanagment, but pretending like the west wasnt actively attempting to undermine or foster the flames of a counter revolution in russia post lenin, all the way up to the modern day is an example of western teachings on the subject.

Again, the post-WW2 situation was outright hopeful in the West until it was clear to even the most naive that Stalin had no intention of keeping any of the promises he made.

the truth, as they say, is always somewhere in the middle.

The Golden Mean Fallacy is just that. The truth between Alex Jones claiming 10,000 water-breathing human hybrids in vats created by the UN and sane people claiming 0 is not 5,000. The truth is the truth, regardless of the range between claimants; and claimants can be completely correct or completely incorrect.

  • The targets of his genocide were white French, regardless of economic class.

  • He's a Cuman with a mask; Gambargin draws a lot of medieval art and the "Smiling Cuman" shows up as a regular.

  • Sorry that acknowledging genocide is "reactionary garbage" to you. Go back and lick boots with your fellow fascists on .ml.

  • Life hurts, and sometimes all you can do is move forward.

The artist (Gambargin) has a lot of personal struggles and posts things like this that are a mix between sad and motivational.

You have to keep going, in the end.
