  • Ja vittnesmålen som ges kort efter brottet bör ju fortfarande stämma. Men jag har inte koll på hur man typiskt löser ett brott, kallar man bara in vittnet en gång eller vill man följa upp med fler frågor senare?

    Jag kan tycka att frågan om preskriptionstid blir en annan sak om man har löst fallet och vet vem som är skyldig fast man inte får tag i honom för att han har rymt till ett annat land.

    Reading that headline is crazy, why would Meta have any military ambitions. And then in the first sentence of the text they mention AI. I guess they need to use AI for any possible application to show that they get value from their large investments.

  • På ett sätt är det fel att ha preskriptionstid, har man utfört ett brott så ska man kunna dömas för det. Å andra sidan blir vittnesmål mer osäkert och polisen behöver fokusera på nyare brott som dom har större chans att klara upp. Summa summarum är nog en preskriptionstid rimlig och det är också rimligt att ett brott med mildare straff har kortare preskriptionstid.

    Med det sagt känns två år som väldigt kort tid.

  • I'm thinking that other countries might rush to withdraw their gold even if Germany get their gold. Because Trump might very well say something on social media about how awful Germany is when they are taking back their gold and that he maybe should stop it. Which could trigger other countries since no one will be the last one with large gold reserves in USA.

  • It seems you have more information than the article. I was not aware of that law. I have never been in Bologna so I shouldn't tell them how the speed limit should be set but it looks like the area inside SS64 and SS9 would make a lot of sense for a 30 km/h zone. And the bigger roads, like SS64 and SS9, can be 50 km/h. This is only based on a quick look on Google maps so the actual situation might be complete different.

    Do you know how big area was impacted by the 30 km/h speed limit?

  • This feels like a typical topic that the city should determine independently of the government.

    It is great that the fatalities decreases a lot, which is understandable since a pedestrian have way better chance of surviving if the car drives at 30 km/h instead of 50 km/h.

  • Which type of products are sold by Philips consumer electronics? Is it everything a normal consumer can buy? On the Wikipedia page it looks like products such as lamps, headphones, toothbrushes and TVs are products belonging to Philips. It is a bit confusing because it says in the beginning of the Wikipedia article that the consumer electronics is no longer part of the company.

  • Alecta is one of the big private pension fund companies in Sweden, they are investing money for millions of Swedes. Hopefully they choose to invest the money in European companies instead.

  • Extremt beroende vet jag inte, men det stämmer att vi exporterar mycket dit. 2024 exporterade Sverige 186 miljarder till USA. USA är tredje viktigaste land och vi exporterar mer till Tyskland och Norge. Total export under 2024 var 2067 miljarder, vilket betyder att USA står för lite mindre än 10 %. Siffrorna kommer från SCB.

    Men detta är ju total export, det kan mycket väl finnas delar av industrin som har mycket högre andel av sin export till USA.

  • Jo det skulle vara mycket lättare om det sker en upphandling eller beställning av ett nytt program istället för att 290 kommuner ska sköta allt själva. Förhoppningsvis går det att samarbeta med dom kommuner och regioner ute i Europa som redan har bytt till Linux.

  • Ja, chansen att folk lämnar dom tjänsterna är väl ungefär lika stor som att grisar börjar flyga men det är ju ingen samhällskatastrof om Netflix, HBO och Disney försvinner. Då hade vanligt folk ganska snabbt gått över till typ Viaplay. Försäljningen av amerikanska viner gick ju bara ner 20% förra året och det finns ju ett bra och stort utbud av europeiska viner så att tro att folk gör sig av med Netflix och Messenger där alternativen är sämre eller krångligare är naivt precis som du säger.

    Det som krävs för att européer ska sluta med amerikansk tech är typ att dom får exportförbud (eller vad det nu kallas med digitala tjänster) av amerikanska regeringen för att folk i Europa ska sätta press på våra ledare att släppa Grönlad så vi får tillbaka Netflix eller att EU förbjuder dom för spridning av propaganda. Och i båda dom fallen kommer massor med folk skaffa VPN för att komma runt det.

    Jag menade bara att offentlig sektor är så stor och långsam så dom kan inte byta till europeiska alternativ över en helg. Det kommer ta åtskilliga år innan den offentliga sektorn har kapat beroendet ens på dom tjänster där det finns alternativ idag.
