  • I try to avoid it whenever I can. I'm just finally fed up with people making fun of poor people.

It's gone for far too long.

  • Well, don't worry, I will start blocking anyone who says that to me.

I've finally just said "Enough is enough" today and will be blocking everyone who says it to me, regardless of the social media platform they say it on. They are not worth my time and I have far better things I need to worry about.

  • Not on here, no, but on other sites, yes. I will start blocking people on every social media platform, whether it be Bluesky, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, or ANYWHERE else that tell me to "stop being poor" or to "get a job".

But I will be blocking people regardless. I've hit my breaking point and I'm ready to snap. I can't handle it anymore.

To people who make fun of us poor people: I'm done listening to you. Next time any of you say 'stop being poor' or any other iteration, you're getting blocked

3on3 Freestyle is the WORST basketball game I've ever played

  • I don't give a shit if the owners weren't directly involved with the shootings. It's THEIR data broker company, and so, they are equally responsible for the murders of those people. Just because they didn't actually kill anyone doesn't mean they can't still be charged. It is THEIR website, THEIR company. The owners of all of these companies that were used in the Minnesota shooting should ALL, quite frankly, be arrested and face numerous charges for indirect murder. They weren't actually involved with the murders, but they should still be treated the same way as actual criminals should be: charges, fines, and a long prison sentence.

  • The only ways you can opt-out of a data broker in the here and now is to manually go to each data broker yourself and opt-out there, or pay money for a removal service that automatically removes your info and opts you out. That is not okay at all. We should have a clear and concise way to opt-out our personal, sensitive info from data brokers, and the best way for that is to give us a national registry like we already have with the National Do Not Call Registry that prevents telemarketers and robocallers from calling us. Everyone in California is already gonna get this by 2026 with a bill that makes it easier to delete online personal data, which is known as the Delete Act. This is not good enough! We need a national registry that prohibits data brokers from collecting our info outright, under any circumstances. If there's one good thing that should come out of these murders, it should be this. These services harvest our data and then sell it to anyone willing to pay, which should outright be made 100% illegal. These services should not be allowed to operate, and quite frankly, I'd like to see a few owners of some of these data broker companies in actual jail for the shit they've done to innocent people, such as been the cause of this recent shooting. Fuck all of them.

  • For the LOVE OF FUCKING GOD, give us a FUCKING NATIONAL REGISTRY to halt data broker abuse!

Shit like this is gonna happen when data brokers collect and ALL of your personal info WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.

There should be a national registry that PROHIBITS data brokers from collecting our personal info.

We already have a National Do Not Call Registry that makes it so we cannot receive calls from robocallers and telemarketers, and there should be an opt-out system that makes it so data brokers CANNOT under ANY circumstances collect any info about us that can reveal our real identities. This is already a system that everyone in California is gonna get by 2026. That is NOT good enough! Expand it to the ENTIRETY of the United States and make it so everyone can opt-out!

This is gonna continue unless data broker abuse is stopped. https://www.donotdox.com/

  • Today I learned @lemmy.ml

Today I learned that the "KNIGHTS" scene from Shrek 2, the scene parodying the 'COPS' TV show, was based off of the car chase with OJ Simpson in 1994, where he fled the scene in a white Ford Bronco.

  • Nothing will ever top the 200th Scott the Woz episode, Borderline Forever. Not only is the blue border around all of Scott's videos the main focus of the episode, but it actually feels like a full Hollywood production. There are so many references and gags to Scott's older videos, and he didn't get just one cameo, he got multiple, most notable ones being the Angry Video Game Nerd (James Rolfe), Brett Favre from the cover of Madden '09, as well as Vince Young from the cover of the Madden game released the previous year (Madden '08). Not to mention the fact that Scott and his friends wrote the entire script themselves. In the video, Scott loses his sanity over the fact that his vision is being blocked by the blue border, and he tries to not only understand it but to also get rid of it and get it out of his life and his videos. The most noteable part of this video, however, are the songs. This makes me want a goddamn Scott the Woz musical so badly. You have the headliner "Stupid Nintendo Games" along with its reprisal at the end, "Closing In", and "Might As Well", all incredible songs. It literally feels like a full-on musical with the feeling of these songs. It truly feels like the better version of a Disney Musical. It is clear to me that it isn't just a Scott the Woz movie. It's a celebration of the entire series in general to commemorate its 200th episode. The episode looks both into the past of the series, as well as looks to the future and sets the stage for future episodes. Don't forget the fact that Scott also held a contest for his fans on Twitter where they could submit 3 second video clips of them pretending to be in an earthquake that would be shown in the full movie. You know all of those videos in the news report of the people in "Ohio" experiencing an earthquake? Those were the contest winners. They were included as extra little cameos.

I'm sorry, but Borderline Forever is easily the best episode of Scott the Woz and nothing will ever come close.

  • Not that kind of ERB, talking about Epic Rap Battles of History XD

  • One of my personal top picks is from Wayne Gretzky's second verse when he rap battled against Tony Hawk.

"Time out, let's talk about athletic achievements. You and I have so many world records between us.

184, that's plenty of 'em. AND I'VE SET 183 OF 'EM!"

  • Damn dude, I seriously hope things get better for you. :(

  • For me personally, I'm gonna stay up for Christmas Eve and watch NORAD Tracks Santa.

Always is a great pass time to watch Santa's journey across the world, and is also a great tool to know his location and to know when he will arrive in your location/area. It's one of the best things of the Christmas season for sure!

  • I'n gonna tell you right now: nothing is ever gonna top Speed Highway Act 2 (Modern).

This is easily the best level in the entire Sonic campaign. The sense of speed is truly strong here, and it the best layout of any level from Sonic Generations. But, the part that really makes this level stand out from the rest of the levels in the game is the highway segment where you have to "drift" Sonic down the highway. Not only is it a great mechanic for the level in general, but it also literally sounds like car from an anime drifting when you drift Sonic. It's Initial D but in Sonic form.

This level is just incredible. Easily the best level of the whole Sonic campaign, bar none.

  • "King of the Hill"

When Cartoon Network went off and changed to Adult Swim, and this theme song started playing, you knew that it was time to go get some rest. Especially if it was on a weekend. On Sunday, it meant the fun was up, it was time to sleep and get ready for school the next day. And it was always the first show to air on the block every single night.

    Memories.

  • Damn, I felt that. 😩

That ominous stopwatch ticking every morning meant that it was time to get on the school bus and that the party was over.

  • My favorite moment of Portal 2 is easily Cave Johnson's lemon rant. Easily one of the best quotes in all of video game history.

"All right, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day! It thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's going to burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm going to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down! [COUGHING]"
