  • This feels like it'll go the HBO Max, wait Max, no HBO Max, dibocal route

  • Most discussion about US politics isn't discussion sadly so it just turns into either arguing or a circle jerk of hating a specific person/place/thing. Most "news" isn't even news here, it's opinion segments. I agree it should stay in its own section to an extent since people can't tell the difference of what's news and what's opinion when reacting.

  • African American male. Growing up it was the "Man up" "no one cares" and all of that negative talk.when trying to be open I still express feelings and emotion but I do limit it depending on who I'm around, and those people are very rare for me to want to be around longer than a small talk catch up while passing by

  • DDG still does top ranking of advertisers even though they aren't directly targeted to you. Kagi puts the most relevant information to your search regardless to what it is you search. You're also able to uprank and downrank different sites you want to see more or less of in your searches. For example if you're someone who looks up a lot of medical terms for work or something you can completely block sites like WebMD from taking over the results making it harder to find more relevant information to it. Not my exact use case but have been a Kagi user for probably 8 months now and it's 100% worth it for the rankings as well as Kagi Translate since it has a proofread feature that replaces Grammarly for me as a dyslexic that has to write a lot of emails.

  • The collective WTF said as both nations wake up to hearing about all of this will be heard around the world. We need anti war protests ASAP to show the world we as the citizens do not condone this invasion by our government, march on DC would be better obviously but we need people to at least start speaking out instead of it just being a scroll on their phone til it hits us in higher prices and shortages of products from South America and China

  • With another AI talk to try to hype up consumers in the article, I wouldn't be surprised this thing is pretty much like a Chromebook that has to call servers to do much things.. Still sticking to older tech

  • Debt, lots of accumulating debt.

  • Search engine, Kagi for parents. You can customize it to just kid friendly results for them so they never see all of the easily manipulative links out there on nearly every other search engine. Similar to the OG Google experience of the early 2000s, but way more relevant and way more helpful as a service to find anything/everything of child curiosity that's child appropriate.

  • Same, worked for a nonprofit for 7 of my 12 adult years that rented space to 2 schools (small high school and a daycare/preschool) within their buildings and we had our own services after session. Wasn't directly involved with the teaching for the schools but did maintain all the computers for students and teachers while having a small program training a couple of the teens to manage a repair shop fixing those computers. That provided more satisfaction than any other job since, even though I will still hate Roblox with a passion on how much like a virus it acts to whatever it gets installed to, I'd do it again if the opportunity was open, but it was a unique deal between the three.

  • Its a dating app that's turned into a hookup app

  • I used tinder on and off over the years and delete it not long after signing back up (moved a few times). I get matches but too many people expect hookups after a first hang out as if its the norm, not looking for that. For some people that might be great but I'm not into that scene. Currently trying bumble and it seems better on that end

  • In and out hands down. Wish we had them on the east coast. For this coast I'd say Shake shack if I'm truly craving a fast food type of burger. Sonic's double quarter pounder is great for the price but there aren't any close in my city so mainly a quick go to when traveling. Chili's has yet to disappoint me if you've got an extra 10 minutes to wait or pre-order while on your way to pickup, so wouldn't conser it fast food.

  • It is mukbang, yeah. Seeing those videos of people eating the giant plates of donuts in 60 seconds, drink this hot sauce challenges and all that gross me out so much. I know more about people like the pink sauce lady than I wouldve ever wanted to (Only need to see first 90 seconds to grasp who that is)The extreme violence, I don't know how so much of it is allowed on there, Instagram seems almost as low of moderation as X as long as the person doesn't die on camera.

  • It's what I'm realizing. We're right at the millennial gen z median being from 1994-98. Thankfully not being sent the 67 type of content like the kids scream in public but it's still a concern to me. As I've said in response to others imma still work on getting a couple new friends but I do want to try to find things to help keep them social and come out the house once in a while since they do enjoy hangouts when the phone is away, or requires both hands to where the phone has to be away haha

  • Yeah I don't agree that it's good in coding. I just see the reels that get sent talk about what's promised about it while in reality programs like Windows 11 have code written by AI and sucks with years of bug patches needed of the current damage, not including future

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm working on the new friends for sure, I just hate seeing what this is doing to friends of close to 20 years. They enjoy the hangouts everytime but as another person was saying in their comment, they're pretty much in an addiction, which I do have to view it as. Two of those friends have kids now, oldest being 5 and it rubs off on them with the iPads so part of why it's still worth attempting to help in my eyes, they arent bad, just I guess dopamine gullible. I know I can only do so much on my end
