  • 1600 patties per cow is a value I've heard since I was a kid in the 70s. It wasn't McD specifically. Maybe the cows have grown fatter or the patties smaller over the decades.

    Anyway, my point was, hundreds of millions of burgers doesn't deplete the country of cattle heads. It was an remark about orders of magnitude.

  • Yeah I like the original Dune very much too. But it's not a masterpiece. Just an underrated flick full of great actors.

    But I will say this: even if you think 1984 Dune was meh, go watch Villeneuve's version with the most unconvincing Paul Atreides in the history of unconvincing actors (Timothy Chalamet), the appalling Lady Jessica with zero expressions and zero acting skills (Rebecca Ferguson), and Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto who manages the incredible feat of being as shit in Dune as he was in Star Wars.

    Then watch David Lynch's again: you'll enjoy it all the more.

    No they don't. Not by snooping on your cellphone's radio signals anyway: the transmission to your carrier is encrypted.

    The bad guys can intercept your convo in a MITM attack by simulating a tower and getting your phone to connect to it.

    But they don't even have to do that: all it takes is subpoenaing your carrier - with a national security letter to keep it quiet and make the unconstitutional a-okay - and your carrier will gladly hand you over to them like a pig on a roast spit.
