It was my choice and it did end up working out well. Had 3 constantly changing roommates for a few years before I finished school and got into my career. Once I started making better money everything got easier. I'm a very happy person and my mother is genuinely an angel. I think it would be a good bit harder for an 18 year old now with the cost of everything. I was also lucky I had a landlord willing to rent to an 18 year old with no credit history and just a bunch of cash. I'd bet thats a hell of a lot less common now. I got a four bedroom apartment and rented rooms to friends and people off craigslist. That was until I could afford a down payment on my current property. It was tough but I always found a way to make it work. With prices now though, I don't know, probably impossible but definitely considerably more difficult.
I knew my dad and I would kill eachother if I didn't. Moved out pretty much as soon as I turned 18. It was a struggle but it had to happen. My parents have since divorced and I havent spoken to my father in almost five years. I found out semi recently that my parents agreed to stay together until my sisters and I were moved out. They got divorced a few months after the youngest left. I'm 31 now.
The fact they were so ambiguous and used the word fetish honestly makes me think its an illegal/shady type of porn they are into. That or they have a warped view on the morality of masturbating. But with so little info I figured I'd cast a wide net.
