  • Convenient excuse. If dems genuinely wanted these things, they could include it in bills that can't be filibustered, use executive orders or just help people and let the SCOTUS complain about it later.

    We know they know how, because we see both republicans and dems do it, but only to make things worse for us or make sure Israel keeps getting bombs when congress is broken.

  • The question is optics of the oppressor.

    When someone tells

    <oppressed minority>

    they need to be civil and quiet and unobtrusive so straight, white, cis males will support them, and cites King, they're either wildly misinformed of history or siding with the oppressor.

  • Oh, I see what youre failing to understand, the private schools were built for the purpose of enabling segregation where they couldnt just draw school district lines accordingly line in california. I assumed that was obvious from the context.

  • It is the norm! The private schools have been built everywhere that has a mixed population 50 years ago. Its why 5% of California is black, but there was like 3 black kids at your school, this is a common experience across the country. Racist housing and education policy has bipartisan support.

    Remember that clip of Biden going "I dont want my kids growing up in a "racial jungle"? The policies that would have let more black kids go to your school was what he was opposing.

  • I didn't ask about Asians. How many black people went to your high-school?

    Its not normal to have private schools everywhere

    It literally is, it started with the desegregation effort, and any place with too mixed of a black and Latino population for public schools to be along racial lines has had private schools for the last half century.

  • Trump would have been sent to prison if he didn’t win the election.

    Trump would never have had the chance if Biden elected an AG who didn't spend 4 years fucking around.

    The other half is actively fighting against it

    Its a shame the democrats dont represent those people and chose not to dismantle Trump's ICE and instead tried to work with republicans.

  • Segregation is schools never went away (partly due to Biden breaking with the party to oppose desegregation), northern areas set up school districts based on the race of the neighborhoods, made easy by redlining, and private schools in the south.

  • If you want to win when the economy is in recession, you have to make up the difference. FDR didnt get elected on "do nothing and hope the economy deigns to bless the people with jobs"

  • You can cry that voters are dumb all you like, but the only thing Biden could have done to win was improve the immediate material conditions of his constituents. He chose to do fuckall.

    Trump was bad enough he still probably could have won if he didnt also choose to facilitate genocide and sent the cops to kick the shit out the politically activated students, the sort who not only vote but get others to vote too.
