MJ12 Detachment Agent

  • This looks really good. Feel like something beyond your run of the mill space colony builder. A complex building system in 3D (with both land colonies and space stations) and it also seems to have additional strategic layer.

Reminds of a cross between Planetbase and the old school Moon Tycoon. I think this could give Planetbase 2 a run for its money.

  • Even with AAA, mid-range hardware from 5-6 years works fine at 1080p if you tune down the settings.

  • I actually backed the Kickstarter for this game. Looking forward to checking out. Love the modular building concept, they really should add Steam workshop/modding support. Just look at the selection of custom buildings in Parkitect; you have so many rides and every type of utility building in multiple styles.

  • Congrats, yeah 600 MAU is not bad at all for Threadi.

  • I normally prefer complex and long economic strategy games (Transport Fever, Project Highrise), but I enjoyed Minami Lane. It was a good pick up and play experience.

  • Energy Weapons; sort of weird one. Early game can be really challenging, but as the game progresses, you become much more proficient (I guess this is true on some level of all builds).

I've actually never done a full run with a dumb build (just the intro part in FO2).

  • This reminds of the overworld in Hammerting (a good game that unfortunately didn't reach it's full potential, I got my monmey's worth for it though).

  • Nah, people look for different things in RPGs.

Not to mention that IMO doesn't really apply to some nerdy video game discussion.

  • Check out: !crpg@lemmy.world

I mod/curate there too, mainstream CRPGs make up most of the content, but indie CRPGs are definitely covered.

  • I am totally good with isometric turn-based RPGs, that's mostly what I play these days.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a real sequel to VTMB or even a more RPG-focused Alpha Protocol.

  • That ship has sailed.

That being said, there are lots of good indie RPGs with a similar setting; UnderRail, Atom RPG, Space Wreck.

The biggest issue is that indies struggle with making third-person fully 3D RPGs.

  • Tactics is a solid release, just not my kind of game.

  • There is a reason why some of us only like FO1/FO2 and New Vegas.

  • That's true, but I think we need to move beyond half measures and in a way, now is the perfect time to do this.

  • I do not really consider Android to be "Linux" (in terms of what it stands for). It's a proprietary operating system from Google that uses an open source kernel.

  • City of Lost Children is Great!

One random one with him that I like (even though it's not a great movie) is the Desperation, based on the Stephen King novel.

  • There quiet of few of his movies that I enjoy even ones that are considered not very good b-movies.

  • Looks this only has 2GB RAM, that's more than enough for a DIY homeserver, but if you're going to actually use the GPU, 2 GB RAM might create significant bottlenecks.
