Baloo with high CPU usage?

Something is wrong with Baloo 6.5.0 under KDE Plasma (Arch). I observe an extremely high CPU utilization of the baloofileextractors process. Can anyone confirm this or have other hints?

Plasma Arrives in openSUSE’s Releases

22. Mar 2024 | Douglas DeMaio | CC-BY-SA-3.0

A lot of excitement was brewing at the announcement of KDE’s Plasma 6 release and now the MegaRelease has arrived in openSUSE Tumbleweed and Kalpa while plans for Slowroll are progressing.

Rolling release users and the developer community get an upgrade that marks a monumental shift for KDE desktop users. The update will make it into a Slowroll release in April as the distributions steady paced version-bumps are expected between April 2 and April 14.

Almost a decade from the release of Plasma 5, the desktop experience for Plasma 6 begins. The transition not only signifies an advancement in aesthetic and functionalit

Anyone else using short toolbars and/or more than 1 toolbar?

If anyone is wondering why I have an extra reboot/shutdown window, it's because the menu I use for apps doesn't have it and I don't like the menus which do. :D

steal my look:

  • 2 toolbars, 1 on top centered, 1 on right adjusted to the bottom, both made as short as they can be with 20px thickness
  • top toolbar has Digital Clock and System Tray, bottom right toolbar has Icons Only Task Manager adjusted so new icons spawn on top and a "Minimal Menu" set to tux as the icon
  • top toolbar set to floating, bottom right not
  • both toolbars set to translucent and window go below (this is the most important for my setup to me)
  • Breeze app style
  • metadata toolbar ("Kanagawa KDE" in the store)
  • Breeze Dark DeepDark colour variant
  • Breeze window decoration
  • default KDE fonts
  • Keepin icons theme (I change it around a lot, but it's my current fav)
  • DeepinDark Cursors (alt: BreezeX-Black)
  • Compact Shu

Black and Red gaming

This has been my gaming setup for the past couple of years. It's all black and red in and out. I was told it's quite nice so I'm sharing here.

(reupload because the old one had a bad title) I'm just an Ace Combat fan, I don't support wars or whatever.

Think Essentially

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/11792335

I am once again here to announce to the world that I got bored once again.

You can see my previous iterations of my desktop by clicking on my profile. For the lazy ones:

Suddenly, I felt an urge to clean things up. I am on the go so I had to do a single screen disposition.

Tech stack:

  • KDE Plasma (as in Kubuntu)
  • Latte-Dock (from Ubuntu repo, straight)
  • That background

Plasma Aesthetic Productivity Rice

  • DM: Plasma
  • WM: Kwin
  • X11
  • Dock: Latte-Dock
  • Upper sidebar: just a Plasma widget
  • Custom buttons (the red one, tux and the triforce): if you click them they make a sound (tux is pingu and noot noot for example)
  • DON'T PANIC and you know why (42)
  • The colorful circle is Panon audio tuned on the microphone with a circular animation
  • Then there is the year progression, Modern Clock (VENERDI is FRIDAY) and the kernel version
  • The first line on the lower screen is an imprecise clock (afternoon tea right now)
  • Backgrounds blurs when inactive and dock of course disappears

I won't use a non rainy background until i get back my old computer. It is to pay respect.

Also: if you remember me from the other social, hi again and sorry for the double post
