Between 2013 and 2022, Brisbane's The Goon Sax put out 3 studio albums of thoughtful indie pop.
The band consisted of Riley Jones (vocals, drums, lead guitar), Louis Forster (vocals, rhythm guitar, bass) and James Harrison (bass, rhythm guitar, backing vocals).
This track is from the 2018 album, We're Not Talking, with vocals from drummer, Riley Jones.

Phantastic Ferniture - Fuckin ‘n’ Rollin
Sydney's (terribly named, IMO) Phantastic Ferniture released one self-titled album. This was the featured track that got a bit of play around the place, at least where I live.
Julia Jacklin (vox/guitar), Elizabeth Hughes (guitar), Tom Stephens (bass), and drummer Ryan K. Brennan's song is a chill yet jaunty, mellow yet catchy slice of tuneful guitar music that just might be suitable for your next playlist.

First released in 2018, this live version is from 2020. I personally love the Stavely-Taylor sisters’ indie folk, sibling harmonies. The song is one I always play at this time of year.

Drunk Mums — Ode to Death

Shot by: Scott Marrinan Edited by: Ayden Crumpton & Scott Marrinan Directed by: Jake Doyle Recorded & Mixed by: Adam Ritchie Mastered by: Dean Whitby Released by: Pissfart Records

Here's a Melbourne-based band who, I believe, originated in Brisbane. I got turned onto them when I stumbled upon them playing at a dive bar some years ago, and it was a good show.

Melbourne's Oh Pep! have released 2 solid albums, Stadium Cake in 2016 and 2018's I Wasn't Only Thinking About You…. Formed by (Oh)livia Hally and (Pep!)ita Emmerichs, they seem to have gone quiet since the release of the second album.
The funnest fact I know about them is that Pepita has also been an actor and played the older sister in Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are in 2009.
