Is there a decent calculator that can help me estimate my taxes for different scenarios?

In the USA. Would be great if the calculator also had a state version but it's ok if not.

I was awarded SSDI this year and am currently withdrawing money from my IRA to stay afloat.

I found the IRS forms - mainly in publication 915 - to calculate my tax burden, but because I also got a lump some from SSDI backpay this year it feels too complicated.

Basically I am trying to see if it makes sense from a tax perspective to withdraw more from my IRA before the end of the year or to wait til next year, and if so, how much more.

I am single and only ever do the standard deduction. I don't think I qualify for the earned income credit or any other credits that I'm aware of. I'm not in a state with the new IRS direct file program unfortunately.

So does anyone know of a basic calculator I can run different amounts through?

Thanks

What do product safety investigators do when they go to people's homes?

I guess the process is probably similar in other countries but included my country anyway since I don't know enough about this stuff. Feel free to respond even if you're in another country!

I received injuries from using a product that is available internationally, but not sure how many or where they have actually sold. Later this week an investigator is going to come to my home to take pictures of the product. I feel like they must be doing something else too? Maybe an interview? It seems weird to come all the way out here for some photographs. If it matters, the manufacturer itself is located in a different country.

Thanks for any information provided!

Moving to a colder climate soon (Denver or Minneapolis-ish), how do I prepare my car?

Update 2024-10-27: Made it to my new home! Thanks to everyone for your input. Winter is closing in and I think we are well prepared!

Hello,

I have never lived in a snowy place. Where I am now we usually get enough ice to make it slick and it shuts the region down. We live in the center of the country so depending where exactly we end up we probably won't have an entire mountain to drive over...probably.

I am moving to be either in Denver area or Minneapolis area. What do I do with our cars?

I have a small 4WD SUV (I don't know how to drive in areas that actually require 4WD). Our other car is a slightly larger SUV. Both have pretty low clearance.

We currently have all season tires. Do we need to get special tires or chains? How do I learn to drive with the chains? Also, does everyone just have 2 sets of tires laying around?

What about vehicle fluids? IIRC viscosity is different in different climates, is that just oil I'd need to worry about?

And are you supposed to heat your car
