Another week of traveling for me, so I have fallen behind on a lot of shows I have been watching this season. Some quick thoughts on the shows I have managed to still find time for:
Konosuba - Darkness focused arc to end the season it seems. Some hilarious voice acting shenanigans this past episode.
7th Prince - Sylpha-focused episode this past week. Some phenomenal animation really made the finale of this episode special.
Delicious in Dungeon - Senshi backstory was pretty touching. Also, I don't mean to spoil anything, but they also cook and eat monsters.
Level 2 Cheat - I continue to really enjoy this series. I had dropped the manga a while back, but I think the VA work has made this one more interesting to me in anime form. Special shout out to Rys as well as the fake hero for some great vocal performances.
I am (hopefully) done traveling this week, but it will be a couple days to get back up to speed on things. Looking forward to catching up on some of the other shows.
Credit to /u/Abysswatcherbel for making the chart for reddit karma and /u/Nooble5 for the Anime Trending chart.
Its not every season that you see an anime original series climb to the top of a chart, let alone one that is fully CG like Girls Band Cry. I also see that Jellyfish has jumped up the charts this week. Must have been some good episodes this past week.
Binged some masterpieces towards the end of the week.
Violet Evergarden
This has got to be the anime with the most number of touching / tear-inducing moments for me. The set-up for some these moments make them quite obvious, but the execution is so good. Plus, Evan Call's music elevate these scenes so much.
I love the ending too. It provided closure, which is important to me.
Overall 10/10, and now one of my favourite series of all times.
Heavenly Delusion
Such a good post-apocalyptic series, reminding me of Last of Us and Fallout.
spoiler for Heavenly Delusion + Fallout
Overall 9/10, though I may bump the score up depending on any future seasons.
86
Other viewers have probably pointed it out already, but this is basically a Gundam series.
There are so many parallels to various Gundam series
spoiler for 86 + Gundam SEED + Gundam 00 + Iron Blooded Orphans + Witch from Mercury + Violet Evergarden + Godzilla Minus One
Other thoughts on 86:
spoiler for 86
Overall 10/10, another top series of all time for me. Unlike the previous two series, I did not have another good series planned after this, and I wanted to take a break from tragedy-themed shows, so I had post-anime depression / syndrome for a short while. It doesn't help that the light novel is incomplete, because I prefer to binge all of it.
Luckily for me, I noticed that a recent mech movie is available.
Gundam SEED Freedom
Like others pointed out, this movie is much needed fan-service and closure for old SEED fans.
It's really pretty much the Gundam SEED I enjoyed, but with better animations that do not get reused.
spoiler for Gundam SEED Freedom
Overall 9/10, such a satisfying conclusion to the series as a whole.
I haven't actually seen the Heavenly Delusion anime (from what I understand it ends after we find Robin) but we do actually see much more aftermath, where the kids go and stuff later on. They could be starting work on a second season right now. Got enough where it'd make sense to me to begin planning it out and whatevers involved.
I just started watching Girls Band Cry and notice there is no official English subjust recently Indonesia got official Eng sub. And the English sub most high sea sites used are MT so there are a lot of errors and sometime make no sense. Are there any good non-MT fan-sub for this? Or does the MT sub quality get better?
