Cracked minecraft: where the heck is it? How do I obtain it???
So, i have a conundrum. I want to play minecraft, but I am absolutely seething at having to log in to my Microsoft account. I've owned Minecraft for over 10 years, but I've grown to despise Microsoft. I want an offline DRM-free Minecraft experience, and I've found versions of Prism launcher that support cracked game data, but I have no idea where to download cracked Minecraft. It's like it doesn't even exist. I'm tech savvy enough to download whatever game I want from the internet... except Minecraft??? Where is Minecraft?!
I'm also willing to simply download legitimate versions through my account one last time and then use a tool to crack them, but I can't find a way of doing that either. I beseech you, Lemmy users, how can I play Minecraft with my girlfriend without Michaelsoft being involved?
Huh, it seems like I need a picture???
Software subscriptions: you own nothing and you'll be happy
ZBrush is officially the favorite child.
Same company acquired two very similar apps.
One required a $14/year subscription, the other $90/year
So they "carefully considered this decision" by delisting the cheaper one for the more expensive one. Boom, 500% cost increase
Don't want to pay? Well, your files are hostage. Stop paying and lose your data.
Ps: remember the lie "subscription for software assures constant updates"?
The announcement serves as the final nail in the coffin for one of the iPad’s oldest and most popular sculpting apps, which hasn’t received any major updates since 2023.

How to add ListenBrainz "Created For You" playlists to Lidarr?
I'm trying to add discovery of new music to my self-hosted music setup. I scrobble to ListenBrainz and each Monday it creates 2 custom playlists: "Weekly Jams" and "Weekly Exploration". I want to get these imported into Lidarr so new music is available in my library.
This seems like it would be so simple, especially since ListenBrainz has a permalink to the playlist, and an RSS link to it. When I try to use the Lists feature of Lidarr, it only offers MusicBrainz lists, which isn't the same thing.
This seems like a simple gap that has to have been filled in some way, but I keep hitting walls. I just want a batch of new songs to be added each week so I can find new music I'd like. If anyone knows of a way to do this, I'd love to hear it. Thank you!
What are your highest seeding ratios?
For me it's YIFY versions of older movies
self-hosted i2p+qbittorrent beginner quickstart
Thought I would share my simple docker/podman setup for torrenting over I2P. It's just 2 files, a compose file and a config file, along with an in-depth explanation, available at my repo https://codeberg.org/xabadak/podman-i2p-qbittorrent. And it comes with a built-in "kill-switch" to prevent traffic leaking out to the clearnet. But for the uninitiated, some may be wondering:
For a p2p system like bittorrent, for two peers to connect to each other, at least one side needs to have their ports open. If one side uses a VPN, their provider needs to support "port forwarding" in order for them to have their ports open (assuming everything else is configured properly). If you have ever tried to download a torrent with seeders available, yet failed to connect to any of them, your ports are probably not open. And with regulators cracking down on VPNs and forcing providers like Mullvad to shut down port forwarding, torrenting over the clearnet is becoming
VPN Provider with Port Forwarding & SOCKS5
My VPN plan is up for renewal, and I'd like to move from my current provider (Privado) to one that supports port forwarding while maintaining access to a SOCKS5 service.
AirVPN would have been my choice, but doesn't have SOCKS5.
Private Internet Access checks off the boxes but I'm not familiar with the company behind it.
Thanks for the help and recommendations.

Google's DMCA Transparency Report 'Freezes' After Recent Volume Surge
After more than a decade of timely updates, Google Search's takedown transparency report has been stalled since mid-April.
After more than a decade of timely updates, Google Search's takedown transparency report has stalled since mid-April. The absence of new data makes it harder for journalists and researchers to analyze these DMCA takedown efforts, which have increased significantly over the past year and a half. Notably, Google continues to send these notices to the Lumen database, providing some ongoing visibility.
Reddit Claims Anti-Piracy Subpoenas Are a "Publicity Campaign," Seeks $55K in Fees
Reddit seeks over $55k in fees from filmmakers, arguing their repeated subpoenas for user data are an "anti-piracy publicity campaign".
After successfully fending off three subpoenas from filmmakers seeking user data related to piracy discussions, Reddit is back in federal court. The company is now requesting over $55,000 in legal compensation, suggesting that these repeated requests amount to an "anti-piracy publicity campaign" that chills lawful speech by Reddit’s users.

'28 Days Later' is a Hit on Pirate Sites... 23 Years Later
The horror film "28 Years Later" is a hit at the box office, while the original "28 Days Later" is doing well on pirate sites, 23 years later
Post-apocalyptic horror film '28 Years Later' is doing well at the box office, with $100 million in revenue in its first two weeks. The latest installment in the horror franchise also renewed interest in the previous films, with '28 Weeks Later' showing up in various streaming charts. The original '28 Days Later' is less widely available due to licensing issues, so many have turned to pirate sites instead.
Stop Killing Games - EU Initiative 1 MILLION ACHIEVED! + More signatures needed
Edit2: As of third of July we've achieved the minimum amount of 1 million signatures! But organizers recommend as many signatures as possible to cover for possible invalidations (1.5M would be ideal). If you have not yet signed, you can still help!
Onto the post.
Yarr citizens of the high seas! The Stop Killing Games movement is still ongoing and we've recently had a second wind. It's within reach!
We're all lovers of media in here, and games currently have no safeguard that guarantees that they won't be locked down long after being released and abandoned. If crackers help us, they can still be played long into the future, but many times there isn't such a possibility, specially in multiplayer games.
This initiative seeks to change that by mainly:
Port Forwarding on a selfmade VPN & I2P Torrenting
Hello comrades, I recently started to selfhost my own VPN. I thought of using a regular VPN provider but I don't trust the cheap ones and the good ones are too costly for my needs. So I started to rent a cheap one core VPS (DMCA ignored of course) for 2,5€/month. Before that I tried some seedboxes from some cheap providers, but the amount of control you have there was absolutely terrible. If they have SSH access, you have no sudo permission.
One of those providers I tried just deploys docker containers and then using some fancy marketing they make a good amount of cash from something that one can do oneself with a little bit of technical knowledge. And then when something doesn't work; good luck my friend.
So that's why I choose a VPS where you have maximum control. Setting it all up including security measures and a custom OS is very fun. My distro of choice is Devuan. I'm running a Debian based distro myself and having no systemd not only boosts the startup time, but saves some sy

Rogue websites capitalizing on the borderless nature of the Internet have met their match, as an Indian court has wielded a "dynamic+" injunction to defend the global streaming rights of British sports platform DAZN for the FIFA World Cup 2025 currently underway in the US. The court emphasized the urgency of the order, stating that without the injunction, DAZN would suffer "irreparable loss and injury" due to the rapid spread of illicit streams.
Rogue websites capitalizing on the borderless nature of the Internet have met their match, as an Indian court has wielded a "dynamic+" injunction to defend the global streaming rights of British sports platform DAZN for the FIFA World Cup 2025 currently underway in the US.
The court order, issued by the Delhi High Court on May 28, represents a significant multi-jurisdictional triumph over online piracy. It restrains identified rogue websites and any future infringing sites from "communicating, hosting, streaming and/or making available fo
